Children affected by the Goverments reforms…..

Families with their children resorting to food banks

An extra 400,000 children will be in “absolute poverty” within six years due to benefit cuts, a think tank has said.

North-east England and the East Midlands, as well as Wales and Northern Ireland will be hit hardest, the Institute for Fiscal Studies suggested.
The study estimated that some 7.5 million low income households will have their benefit entitlements cut by more than £500 a year in real terms.
The government said it was committed to supporting families.
It said it was “helping families keep more of what they earn” by cutting taxes and increasing the National Living Wage.

However, it has also frozen many working-age benefits and capped payments.

Absolute poverty
The report predicted that child poverty levels will increase by 4% nationally between 2015/16 to 2021/22.

Benefit changes – including the roll-out of universal credit – will account for three-quarters of the total 530,000 surge in child poverty levels over the given period, the research added.

The government has defined those in “absolute poverty” people whose income is less than 60% of what the UK’s median average was in 2010/11.
For a couple with two children in 2017/18, that would be £345 a week.
That figure includes benefits and is after housing costs have been deducted.

The report – funded by independent charity the Joseph Rowntree Foundation – predicted absolute poverty (adult and child) across the UK will remain roughly unchanged between 2015/16 to 2021/22.
But the IFS said without the planned benefit changes, absolute poverty rates would have declined.

“If the government sticks to planned benefit cuts, it should not be surprised if, according to the official measure, absolute child poverty rises,” said Tom Waters, of the IFS.

“The larger projected rises occur in areas where families with children are more reliant on benefits than earnings for their income, and where more families are likely to be adversely affected by the new two child limit on means-tested benefits.”

‘Unravelling
The study found some low-income families will see receive £2,500 less in benefits due to the two-child limit.

A government spokesman pointed out that there are 200,000 fewer children living in poverty than in 2010 and that the north-east of England has “near-record levels of employment”. Unemployment rate in Wales “is the lowest on record”, the spokesman added.

But Campbell Robb, chief executive at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, said the figures show the UK’s record of reducing child poverty “is at risk of unravelling”.
The foundation has called on the government to lift the freeze on benefits.
Liberal Democrat work and pensions spokesman Stephen Lloyd said the figures “hammer home” the dangers of “cruel and senseless Conservative policies”.

Since 2017 food banks have poped up all over the Uk with new benefits reforms since Tories been in power and growth show it’s going to growing even more in 2018.

all over the Uk food banks are trying to do their best in helping families with children to have a meal for at least once a week by supplying food packages, however food banks are always running out of supply’s as they can’t handle the high demand in people on this only way so families can feed their love ones.

People can only use the food banks for supply’s if they have been given a request from their GP or healthcare adivor and this can be very limited in using food banks.  Their are many children going to bed with a empty stomach and before going to school and only have a drink of water. Because of the U.K. Goverment – DWP can do this as they have planed / designed for the unemployed on benefits by making sure people are stripped away from any kind of income. The DWP aJobcentre Plus play a big part in carrying out these cuts, which they don’t a care in the world.

we are now in 2017 going into 2018 and you wouldn’t think things end up the way it is? The Goverment / DWP are fully aware of these issuers that people are facing today , don’t care and know their plans are working correctly.

We only have two options “let’s stand up and put a STOP to the Tories plans in killing families who love their children very much as everyone should” or option 2 “do nothing to their austerity and let the Tories get away with their plans in killing people / children dying”.

I think that we all may overturn the Tories evil reforms if Labouer gains power as our next Goverment, were I have identified that Labouer is trying their best in changing the Tories reforms, however the Tories wont at all littering, think their evil plans are helping unemployed people back into full – time employment and now driving these reforms even further to make sure their policy’s work in away that nobody won’t have any kind of income.

their plans are not just for the unemployed people, however will also affect those who are employed, because people hours of work may decrease and fall into the Tories plans as people will have less income and b fore unable to pay bills, food, rent, coucial tax and will resort in claiming for a extra income from the DWP.

I do ask all people to stand up and contact your local MP in whiting or email as I do know this method of getting the message across does make a big difference and once you have reported your request belave me DWP don’t like this.

“Children with disabilities are like butterflies with a broken wing. They are just as beautiful as all others, but they need help to spread their wings” http://www.enfantshandicapes.com

Having a disabled child puts an incredible financial strain on families as everything you need for your child costs more….
….trips to hospital, specialist equipment, extra clothes, laundry, higher electricity bills ……etc

My son’s trikes cost nearly 10 times more than his elder brother’s bikes. The custom build for his disability and the extras such as back support or special pedals all ramped up the cost.

Grants for Families and Carers

Families and carers of the disabled do a fantastic job…..negotiating care, arranging appointments, liaising with professionals, writing reports…..As well the hands on care of bathing, dressing and feeding.

We are so multi-skilled and adaptable that others look on in amazement at the variety of roles we perform each day.

Having a disabled child or adult in the family brings all sorts of changes to family life as everyone is affected by the extra responsibility and the additional financial cost.

Grants for Disabled Adults

What do you want as a disabled adult?
Your rightful place in society; a good job; a social life; being able to get around from place to place…..and much more.

n fact, exactly the same as those without a disability!
However, the Government review of all benefits, changes to eligibility criteria and the introduction of different methods of assessment is shaking the security of many disabled adults.Holiday Grants for the Disabled

Will you have a holiday next year?

Exhausted and frustrated by the challenges of……
Extra planning, transporting wheelchairs and equipment, finding activities to suit ALL the family , paying for a carer (that’s if you find one!), accessible accommodation, extra insurance costs…..

Grants for Disability Equipment

Therapists struggling with limited budgets may not be able to provide all the disability equipment for your needs or your child’s needs as each Local Authority has their own eligibility criteria.

Our own authority only provides equipment for independence in the home – which is bizarre as how many of us would call that independent living!

Grants for Housing

Are you in social housing or renting privately? Do you own your home?
Whatever your circumstances finding the right home or adapting your existing home is extremely challenging if you have a disability or a disabled child.

Despite moving to what I thought was an accessible house, my son’s changing medical needs meant that over time it was no longer suitable without major modifications.

Grants for Education

Schools, colleges, universities and individuals are all able to apply for grants for education to support learning and additional education resources.
Grants for education can be awarded for resources and services that are not available from statutory funding.
This may include the provision of sporting and education facilities for children with Special Needs, computer access equipment, books and childcare for students.
